We stayed 8 nights at the Pemba Lodge, and we loved every moment of it. We were there at low season and were the only guests, and we where treated wonderful. We had local food from the the villages and the fishermans everyday. We were on a trip to a village nearby and our guide told us about how his mother used to cook the sweet potato tops and next day we got it for dinner. Same with the crabs, we met some fishermans that have caught crabs, and 3 hour later they where on our dinnerplate.
Beware of the difference between high end low tide, it can be up to 4 meters!
