Accommodation

With only five cottages at Pemba Lodge, it’s very peaceful and relaxed. The emphasis is on simplicity, being at one with the environment. They are attractive, with a lot of thought in their practical and aesthetic individuality.

In keeping with the ethos of being connected to, and living in, nature, their layout and dimensions draw on centuries of learning about comfort in tropical climes.

All are very spacious and airy, made from palm and thatch, and retaining an authentic African appearance. They’re raised on stilts about a metre off the ground to help keep them cool and capture the breeze, complemented by wooden decking out front of each as an easy, shady spot to sit and relax with a drink.
